Recovery Associates of the Palm Beaches is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team of medical and Masters Degree level professionals and certified counselors that compliment each other because of their expertise and their unique brand of genuineness and sincerity.
Program Director/Therapist, James Rapp is a Certified Addictions Counselor, Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor, and Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor who has been practicing professionally for over twenty years. Jim’s passion and strength are in nurturing clients with his genuine care and concern displayed by his love, hope and kindness. He excels in assisting clients at getting to the origins of their addictive disorder instilling in them hope and the tools necessary to sustain ongoing recovery.
Medical Director, Eduardo Pena, M.D., is Board Certified in General, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Addictions Medicine, and Forensic Psychiatry. Dr. Pena sees clients on an as-needed basis when indicated to address issues associated with psychiatric disorders which may coexist with a client’s chemical dependency diagnosis. If indicated, he will then oversee and medically manage each case while the patient is a client at Recovery Associates of the Palm Beaches.
Paul Lesnik, LCSW, CHT, PA, is a Masters level therapist who has been involved in the treatment of chemical dependency and psychiatric issues for over 16 years. Paul’s therapeutic approach utilizing individual, group, psychodrama and hypnotherapy conveys a strong message that addresses mind, body and the spiritual needs of recovery. He is an expert in gay/lesbian issues and in treating the underlying causes of addiction and behavioral problems, and takes an individualized and proven approach in treating each of our clients.
Nancy Stitt, ARNP, MA, MSN is a Family Psychiatric and Health Nurse Practitioner who brings to Recovery Associates a wealth of experience and diversity of training. Nancy administers Psychiatric Evaluations and Medication Management and supports the Recovery Associates Treatment Team in crisis and trauma interventions, as well as provides education in the appropriate use of medication in recovery for both staff and clients. In addition to working with Men and Women in Recovery, Nancy has worked in a myriad of venues including Children and Family Psychiatry, Individuals struggling with Eating Disorders and Trauma, Older Adults and their Caregivers and Persons with Spinal Cord Injuries. Adjunct to her extensive psychiatric training, Nancy has certification in Movement Therapy, EMDR, Neurolinguistic Programming and Sex Therapy.
Rita Scupp, CAC, is a Certified Addictions Counselor who has extensive experience in state-of-the-art scientific, medical and 12-step models for the treatment of addictive disorders. Her therapeutic approach conveys a strong message that addresses all aspects of the recovery process. Rita goes beyond the theory and the technical points of therapy by utilizing compassion, caring, empathy, and understanding in assisting each of her clients achieve their own personal recovery experience.
Angela Walker, BS is a Certified Addictions Specialist. Angela is trained in substance abuse counseling and is an expert in dealing with family and co-dependency issues. She believes that dependency is a family illness and is passionate about restoring hope to all family members affected by the addictive process. She grounds herself in the spiritual principles of recovery and utilizes her wonderful gifts of unconditional love and encouragement in instilling hope in each of her clients.
Recovery Associates of the Palm Beaches prides itself in providing our clients with Life Coaches who offer each client additional levels of structure and support for recovery. Our life coaching harnesses the energy for change by assisting clients in making commitments to their goals and working towards achieving each goal within a certain time frame with their coach.
